Shifter Pro

Context

Frichti used an external website to organize the schedule of the riders in the dark stores. Wanting to save money and have power over the tool, we created Shifter Pro. A complete shift management experience for frichti and riders.

01 - Research

Before thinking the solution, we wanted to understand the problems users might have with the existing tool. I shadowed the users for a week to understand the needs and create a relationship with them. The objective was also to democratize the design in this team so that they could understand what we could bring them.

What I could see?

I was able to understand what was important as functionality for the users and the flows to simplify. They had a tool with a lot of functionality, but they were only using 20% of it.  They needed a tool that was easy to use and met their needs without overdoing it.

02 - Design

After the research phase, we were able to define the project framework more precisely with the product manager. It was important to define the MVP well to save a maximum of time.  This is why we chose to use Material UI to realize this project. We didn't have enough web components in the Frichti design system and developing them would require too much time from the developers.

I designed the MVP from a low fidelity solution to a final version. The tool being new with a complex flow to simplify, I chose to make wireframes. This allowed me to test them to make sure I was going in the right direction.

I also had to design the shifter pro delivery experience on the rider app (android). The rider could directly from the app book the shifts he wanted at the hub he wanted. The app being developed with the design system components, I could iterate directly on the UI.

What we wanted to do?

The hubs had particular names and for new delivery drivers it was complicated to know where they were. We wanted to put forward a map so that new drivers could quickly decide where they wanted to work. It also allowed us to start the development of the dynamic map that we also wanted to put in the delivery experience for the drivers

03 - Test

Website of Shifter Pro

The team I was working with was next to us in the Frichti office and I had a good relationship with them. So I regularly organized user tests with them to get maximum feedback. I could adjust and iterate the design as I went along to make it fit their needs.

For the flow that was in the app, I made a figma prototype that I tested during a test session in a hub. Being quite far from the delivery people I had to be more formal in my approach.

What's end ?

The tool was developed and launched in February 2022. It has allowed us to increase revenue by no longer paying for an external tool and to facilitate the work of the teams.
